# Scorvane

> Scorvane is a post-apocalyptic online role-playing game (MMORPG) for Windows PC, in development and free to test. Players 18 and older can sign up at https://scorvane.net/ for an Alpha or a Beta test wave and download the game there.

## Facts

- Genre: online role-playing game (MMORPG), post-apocalyptic, open world, light survival.
- View: third person over the shoulder, with a first-person option. Melee and firearms count equally.
- Setting: players wake in Shelter 9, a cavern market under the desert, and head out into a 12 km wasteland held by Dustcoat bandits and mutant animals. The cataclysm is called the Ashfall.
- Story: 44 main quests in five acts up to level 30, 77 side quests and 16 bosses.
- Multiplayer: parties of four, guilds, a player market, bounties, proximity text and voice chat (about 30 m).
- Survival: hunger and thirst give light bonuses and penalties and never kill.
- Vehicles: cars, a motorbike, a boat and an ultralight aircraft.
- Platforms: Windows 10 and 11 today (installer or zip from https://scorvane.net/#download). macOS, Linux, PC VR, a Steam release and consoles are planned but not confirmed.
- Accounts: a free Scorvane account (email and password at https://scorvane.net/account.html) gives each player a name and four-digit tag, like Ash#4821, used on every realm.
- Business model: play to win, never pay to win. The shop will sell cosmetics only (outfits, paint jobs, emotes, nameplate styles). No boosters, lockboxes or paid ranks.
- Age: players must be 18 or older.
- Status: in development. Release date not announced.

## Testing

- Two waves: Alpha (small, early, expect wipes, bug reports wanted) and Beta (larger, load tests). Alpha testers also get into the Beta.
- Testing is free. Sign up at https://scorvane.net/#signup with an email, a character name, the wave and the platform.
- Each sign-up gets a tester code (format SCV-XXXX-XXXX). Players enter it once in the game (title screen or pause menu) and it is tied to their Scorvane account.
- Wave dates are not set; testers are emailed when their wave opens.
- Testers can remove their sign-up, and players can delete their account, at any time.
